Skream, and his fast becoming bestest-buddy Sam Frank, premiere their next chart bound single; Anticipate. Check out the Music Video for the track below.
Skream seems to be taking more and more of a kicking regarding his “credibility” of late, people’s complaints often cite his move towards a more commercial sound. Anticipate will do nothing to alleviate this, nor should it. Skream will do as he always has, he’ll create music that he wants to, with a fuck-you-attitude to anyone who cares to give criticism.
As for Anticipate, here comes our criticism (cheeky smiley face). It feels slightly simplistic and lacks a sense of anything particularly epic, while the lyrics emote (The track is about his “anticipation” for his soon-to-be arriving baby) it fails to deliver any real emotion to the listener. However, this is a grower, and after a few listens it’s now a common addition to our iTunes “recently played” list. Plus, there’s 2 killer remixes by Netsky & Cassius, so in the subtle words of Missy Elliott; go Cop That Shit!
Anticipate hits the streets on the 14th of November.
