Go crazy guys and girls, for the king has returned. Drum & Bass aficionado High Contrast preps the release of his sixth studio album, with the release of the video for title track, The Agony & The Ecstacy.
After evoking the “he’s gone mainstream” internet trolls with his decision to work with DJs Tiësto & Underworld on his last track. The big-haired one has well and truly stuck two fingers to them with this commercial friendly anthem. Mixing that Friday night Annie Mac sound with Lincoln’s trademark, epic string-section-sound.
After hearing High Contrast talk recently about how he wanted his passion for visual art to penetrate his music work, we were unsurprised at the context of the video. While the split-scene “Agony, Ecstasy” routine is a little predictable, it does a fitting job. Much better than some of the cheesy cliche, “We’re mental!!” videos that often come out of the D&B scene. All-in-all, High Contrast is an artist, he’s back, and we cannot wait to hear the album!
Feeling this track as much as us?
